Delete your Luget account

Effective Date: October 4, 2026

This page explains how to delete your account in Luget, the app for learning Uyghur (iPhone, Android and https://luget.app), and what happens to your data. You only have an account if you signed in with an email code, Google or Apple; without one there is nothing on our servers to delete.

1. Delete the account in the app

• Step 1. Open Luget and make sure you are signed in.
• Step 2. Open Profile and tap the gear icon to open Settings. On the website, open https://luget.app/#/account and go to step 3.
• Step 3. In the Account section, tap Delete account.
• Step 4. Confirm with Delete.

The account is deleted from our servers right away. It cannot be restored.

2. Ask us to delete it

If you no longer have the app, email [email protected] from the address of your Luget account (for Google or Apple sign-in, the address of that Google or Apple account) with the subject "Delete my Luget account". We delete the account within 30 days and reply when it is done.

3. What is deleted

• Your email address and every sign-in method (email code, Google, Apple). Apple sign-in tokens are revoked with Apple.
• Your profile: username, display name and photo.
• The progress saved to the account: XP, streak, lessons, words and settings.
• All sessions, so every device is signed out.

4. What is kept, and for how long

• Progress on your device stays on that device until you uninstall the app, reset progress in Settings or clear the website's data.
• Purchase records. Records of payments made on luget.app stay with us and with Paddle, no longer linked to the account, for as long as tax and accounting law requires. Purchases in the App Store and Google Play are kept by Apple and Google under their own policies.
• Reminder token. While reminders are on, the device's notification token stays so reminders keep arriving, no longer linked to the account. Turn reminders off in Settings and it is deleted.
• Exercise error reports you sent are not linked to an account. They are kept while we need them to fix lessons and deleted on request.
• Analytics (Firebase) is not linked to an account and is kept for no more than 14 months.

Deleting the account does not cancel a subscription bought on luget.app. Cancel it first with the link in the receipt email from Paddle or at https://paddle.net. Subscriptions in the App Store and Google Play are cancelled in the store's subscription settings.

5. Delete data without deleting the account

• Turn reminders off in Settings to delete the reminder token.
• Email [email protected] to have your exercise error reports or the progress saved to your account deleted while you keep the account.
